Kim has been an educator for more than two decades. She has worked as an elementary school teacher in the independent school sector as well as an Assistant Director of Admissions.  She had the pleasure of working with and teaching teachers, assistants, students, and parents. Kim is most proud of being a wife and mother of boy/girl twins. Being an effective parent is Kim’s passion in life. She says, “Every day I try to be mindful of each decision I make in regards to parenting with the end in mind".  Besides Kim’s experiential background, she holds her Bachelor’s degree, her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Masters degree in Education, and is a Certified Parent Educator. Kim is Co-Director of Empowered Parenting, which offers courses, workshops, and one on one coaching to parents, teachers, grandparents, healthcare workers, counselors, and anyone who relates to children.  Kim's knowledge and experience coupled with her enthusiasm, humor, empathy and compassion, has helped thousands of people world-wide with their daily stuggles with children.  Kim's goal for you is to help reduce conflict, foster mutual respect, and create deeper communication and connections with your loved one.

Melanie, a certified parent educator, is the mother of three children. She is dedicated to educating others with the parenting tools, she and her husband, consistently apply which makes parenting easier, more effective, and far more enjoyable. Prior to becoming a wife, mother, and educator, Melanie pursued a career in law, and worked at the Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorneys office for approximately ten years. As a deputy district attorney, she worked in the juvenile system, where she saw first hand the direction children took when exposed to ineffective communication within the home. It was this experience, combined with having children of her own, that convinced her to join together with Co-Director, Kim DeMarchi, to start Empowered Parenting, to teach parents to empower themselves, and empower their children.
